Natasha novotnaEducation: Graduation at Janacek Conservatory in Ostrava Engagement: Nederlands Dans Theater 2 (NDT 2) 2000–2002 Göteborgs Opera and Ballet in Sweden (within this engagement she was awarded for her role of Juliet in M. Müller´s Romeo & Juliet) 2002 Netherlands Dans Theater 1 (NDT 1). 2004–2005 involved in the creative process of the NDT Choreographic Workshop benefit performance. 2006–2007: freelancer, mostly as a dancer hosting at dance companies and in choreographies around the world; cooperation with leading dance theatres and creators worldwide – Tero Saarinen Company in Finland, Copenhagen International Ballet, Korzo Theater, Station Zuid and C-scope in the Netherlands, the soloist of the Italian La Scala Roberto Bolle or the Japanese choreographer Saburo Teshigawara. Occasionally she works as a dance coach and pedagogue, lately for example within a series of workshops for the British Council and the NDT. In 2007 she created a choreography entitled “Znaky o Znacích” (“Signs about Signs”). 2007: co-founder of the company 420PEOPLE In the season 2010/2011, in co-operation with Korzo Theater, Natasha added to the repertory of 420PEOPLE by creating a piece entitled “Sacrebleu”. Cooperation with choreographers: J. Kylián, W. Forsythe, O. Naharin, M. Ek, P. Lightfoot or Crystal Pite. Awards: Dutch critics have twice shortlisted her for the Best Dancer prize for her performance in W. Forsythe´s “Duo” and J. Inger´s “Pneuma”. 2008: Dance Europe best performance prize (for “Small Hour”) 2009: Czech Thália Prize 2008 (for “Small Hour”) 2009: within TANEC PRAHA festival, Nataša was awarded the Dancer of the Year prize |
