Sergiy grigorenko

Education:

1986 absolutory on Kiev Musical Academy of P. I. Tchaikovsky – percussions

Work and awards:
From 1983 member of the orchestra (tympány) of the Ukrainian National Opera and Ballet Theatre of T. G. Schewtchenko

Pedagogue: in 1980 as a teacher at elementary art school, since 1990 at Conservatory in Kiev teaching percussions

Since 1. 11. 1996 in Czech Republic – head of percussions in F. X. Shalda Theatre Liberec.

Since September 1997 works in Elementary and Elementary Art School in Liberec, founder of a special class and 1998 school orchestra of percussion “Aries”.

Despite of its relatively short time of being, the orchestra presented itself remarkably within CR (among others in the Czech Parliament, at the international conference SOCRATES, several times in Prague Rudolfinum or in the Smetana Hall of the Municipal House,) as well as abroad (Sweden, France, NSR, Danmark, Belgium). Performances are impressive not only because of the choice of the repertory but above all because of the concern of the pupils themselves. Aries has a remarkable concern in the cultural life of the city and the whole region. As soloists, schoolgirls gained twice total victory in the main rounds of the competition of Elementary Art Schools (2000 and 2003).

Cooperation with the Prague Students´ Orchestra: together with prof. Mirko Shkampa and young talented conductor Jakub Hrusha originated the staging of “Carmen Suite” of G. Bizet and R. Shchedrin. This united project of PSO and Aries had a huge success and after a few reruns in CR (season 2001/2002, among others in Prague Rudolfinum) it gained Grand-prix at the international musical competition in Neerpelt, Belgium (May 2002) and the record won in its category in the Concerto Bohemia 2002 competition.

The last distinctive success of Aries was victory in Concerto Bohemia 2003, the orchestra was chosen by the expert jury for the festive concert of the winners among 10 most successful orchestras to appear at the Zofín Palace on November 15th 2003.

Victory in the national round of the Elementary Art Schools´ competition in orchestra play in 2004, the Prize for pedagogical leadership and the best form of percussions.

In 2004, on the occasion of The Teachers´ Day, he was awarded with Commemorative note “for his contribution to education of the Liberec region” by the regional educational department.
