I was born in Kyiv, Ukraine in family of ballet dancers. I was brought up in the dance halls of National Opera and Ballet theatre and famous Virski folk dance company, where my parents worked. But believe me I wasn’t very interested in dancing in my early years making my parents where really happy about that. Desire to become a ballet dancer revealed when I was 9. One year of gymnastics prepared me to enter Kyiv State Choreographic College. There where 8 years of learning, hard work, small joys and frustrations. In 1990 I graduated the College and gladly joined the Kyiv National Opera and Ballet theatre.
There was another important event which greatly determined my destiny. I married Eugene Vrublevsky and from that time we happily walk along the road of life together. Soon our daughter Anastasia was born. We felt inspired and looked forward to the promissing future. But very soon we realized we have to change future ourselves. It is easy to make decisions when you are 21. Thus we are in Prague.
My first new place was Prague Chamber Ballet. Founded by famous czech choreographer Pavel Shmok. That was my first experience of being part of independent individual art. I rapidly mastered repertoire and adapted the company. We toured a lot around the Czech Republic. I could acquaint and feel sympathy for the country which became my home. With all my love and respect to classic ballet here I realized that modern art of independent authors will become my mission. I had interesting and incomparable experiences of being involved into the process of giving birth to performance. That’s what art is in my opinion.
In few years I accept an invitation to become the soloist in Usti nad Labem opera and ballet theatre. Young Slovak choreographer O.Shot founded international company there. My husband has also joined the company as a soloist. It was very interesting period of our artistic career. Besides classic ballet repertoire we could discover the richness of modern dancing art, learning technics of J.Limon, M.Graham, D.Cunningham.
We actively participated in O.Shot’s stagings based on great dramatic musical fundament (“Requiem” by Verdi, “Carmina Burana” by Orff). Those performances required to uncover, improve and develop special dramatic skills of dancers. In Usti nad Labem I had my first experience as a teacher and rehearsal coach. I liked that. Thanks to “Open Air Opera” project we visited numerous countries in Europe and overseas. But Prague was always in our minds. In 1998 we joined “Laterna Magika” theatre as leading soloists.
So we follow the beat of time being active participants of theatre life of the country. We work hard and can feel deserved results. Theatre helps us with support and respect. We devoted biggest part of our lives to the theatre. But artistic life of professional dancer is short. It is time to apply own experience and start our own projects. To organize international festival of young performers was a challenge. Standing right to my Eugene and having such partner as “Jason Travel” I have no doubts about general success. But without you our efforts will be ineffective.
Welcome to Prague my dear teachers, principals, managers, parents and children. We will be happy to see you. AVE BOHEMIA festival is waiting for you.
